Cool Old Pics

Technically I shouldn’t be posting these pictures, because they come from the Examiner instead of the Glimpses…but what the heck, I like ’em and I want to share ’em. This Examiner issue had info about the upcoming Good Ole Days celebration and as was the case with the Glimpses, they liked to showcase old photos relative to Winfield. Here are the ones that were published in September of 1977…

  1. Hi, I just wanted to mention. The photo of the early 1900 diorama made by Larry Enders was moved to the Hedges Train Station of the Winfield Historical Society. This happened when the Winfield Fuel and Material closed. Thanks goes to The Board of the Society for saving this piece of history.

I am glad to report that the diorama of the Village created by Mr. Enders has been relocated to the Winf Historical Society Hedges Stattion from the former Winfiled Fuel and Materials Co. that is now closed. It was a good feeling to have helped the Society Members save this important piece of art work and history.
