Since I’ve been hearing (and reading) a lot of stuff about the Winfield police department lately, I thought a couple of posts about the department from the past would be in order.
Today’s deals with a proposal for a police residency requirement from March of 1976…

The Glimpses featured a “women’s section” for awhile in the 1960′s called…

In March of ’68 the section featured a “fashion show” article, Q & A about dress lengths, and some recipes from a local resident….

Back in September of 1964 Winfield saw the official opening of Central DuPage Hospital, a restaurant called Mary’s Snacks and the announcement that stoplights would be installed at the intersection of Roosevelt & Winfield Roads (without camera’s
). All were featured on the front page of the Glimpses (of course!)…
